From Perth. The gap between what your site says and what a buyer needs to know.

Can a first-time buyer actually finish the job?

Everyone on your team already knows where everything is. We send a buyer who doesn’t — one job to finish, no memory of your brand — and record, screen by screen, every question they could not answer.

Any URL we can reach without a password. Scope and fee agreed in writing before anything starts.

Less “your UX score is 67”.
More “here’s the page, the question your buyer never answered, and the test that settles it”.

01 / WHY A STRANGER

You can’t hire a
first-time visitor.

It is the one participant no recruitment budget can buy.

01

Recruited testers are patient

Someone being paid to complete a task completes it. They persist past the point where a real buyer closes the tab, and they tell you it was “pretty clear”.

02

Your team already knows

Everyone who built the site knows where the size guide lives. That knowledge cannot be unlearned for the length of a usability session.

03

So we run the stranger

No memory of your brand, a limited attention span, one job to finish — and a fixed seed, so the same session can be re-run after you change something.

02 / TWO AUDIENCES, ONE AUSTRALIAN STORE

Same page.
Different priorities.

A carry-on traveller and a family holiday planner start on the same luggage catalogue. Their recorded paths lead to different categories — and to different unanswered questions.

Compare the two paths

Independent demonstration. July is not a client or partner.

Two simulated sessions, not real customer research. Numbered dots show recorded focus.

03 / THE ENGAGEMENT

What lands on
your desk.

Teams bring us in before a relaunch or replatform, after a redesign, ahead of a campaign that will send real money at the site, or when the numbers moved and nobody can say why. Fixed scope, quoted per engagement — there is no rate card to anchor you to the wrong number.

BEFORE YOU COMMIT

One sample session.

Sample

A single recorded session on one job, so you can judge the format on your own site.

  • One URL, one buying job
  • The recorded session and what went unanswered
  • Enough to decide whether the full check is worth it

Not the full check. If nothing material shows up, we say so.

Request a sample session

We need a URL reachable without a password: your live site, a public preview, or an unlisted pre-launch host. Password-protected staging and private networks are out of scope — see the questions below.

LET’S LOOK AT THE JOURNEY

You know your site.
Let’s check the journey.

Send a URL we can reach without a password and the one job a first-time buyer has to finish. We reply by email to confirm scope, timing and fit.

A FEW FAIR QUESTIONS

Clear on what
you’re getting.

Can you check our password-protected staging site?

No, and we’d rather say so now than after you’ve booked us. Our runner deliberately refuses URLs carrying credentials, private network addresses and non-standard ports, and it never submits forms — so a password page stops it. What works instead: your live site, a public preview URL, or an unlisted pre-launch host. If you can open it in a fresh browser with no login, we can check it.

Is this research with real customers?

No. BuyerGap runs an AI-driven buyer through a real browser and records what it did. We check the recorded evidence against the original screenshots before delivery. It does not measure human attention, emotion or conversion, and it does not replace customer research.

Will you promise a conversion increase?

No. We report what a first-time buyer could not resolve and suggest what to test. Actual customer or revenue effects need customer research or a proper experiment. Anyone quoting you an uplift figure from a tool like this is guessing.

What if you find nothing material?

Then that is the finding and we put it in writing. A clean result is worth having, especially before a deadline. We will not invent severity to justify the engagement, and we disclose how much of the site the session actually covered.

Can our agency run this for a client?

Yes. Say so in the enquiry and we’ll agree a report format for your team and discuss delivery under your branding. Please only send a client project you’re authorised to share.

What won’t you do to the site?

No purchases, no form submissions, no account creation, no CAPTCHA bypassing, no touching customer data. We read public pages. Those limits are enforced by the runner, not by policy alone, and anything they blocked stays visible in the report.
